Known Trail/Route Conflicts

·        No power North of Kuskokwim Way – there is a desire for upgrades for commuters from Farmers Loop

·        Snow Storage along Yukon Drive at Observation Point, cuts off access to Himalaya Trail area

·        There is a short cut through Campus Core area, West of Fine Arts along Tok Lane and ramp (not designated trail, but lots of short cuts)

·        No pedestrian crossing on Farmers Loop between cabin area on East side of the road and campus. Lots of students run across four lanes of traffic at busy times of day.

Opportunities

·        Put in Ped light at N Tanana Drive and Farmers Loop to allow safe pedestrian access

·        Patty Center is the traditional meeting space for most race starts, some start at ski hut

Side Notes

·        Running events on campus are not often through woods but stay mainly on roads and main trails

·        Make access safe across campus and encourage trail use where appropriate

·        Make sure all students can get to and around campus safely and without a vehicle, easily

·        Reduce vehicle and pedestrian conflicts
